SCOTCH WHISKY VS BOURBON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Esta vez os hablaremos de las diferencias entre el scotch whisky y el bourbon. Estos destilados suelen ser objeto de confusi\u00f3n y no pocas veces ambos t\u00e9rminos se usan de manera indiscriminada. Pero lo cierto es que existen diferencias entre ambos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A continuaci\u00f3n tratamos de aclarar un poco m\u00e1s la linea que los separa:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">En primer lugar, el t\u00e9rmino <i>whisky<\/i> procede del gaelico-escoc\u00e9s &#8220;<i>uisge-beatha<\/i> &#8221; que significa&#8221;el agua de la vida&#8221;. Pero lo cierto es que los or\u00edgenes de este destilado no est\u00e1n totalmente claros,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>debido a la poca documentaci\u00f3n existente al respecto.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">El fraile escoc\u00e9s John Cor obtuvo 6 fanegas de malta con las que pudo fabricar 1500 botellas de este Whisky.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Por un lado, los historiadores creen que fue elaborado por primera vez en china en el siglo XII. Pero, tambi\u00e9n sabemos que la antigua cultura celta ya sab\u00eda destilar la cebada y el centeno. Por lo que podemos decir que su origen inicial es algo incierto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Nos tenemos que ir hasta 1494 para encontrarnos con los primeros documentos que hablan de la elaboraci\u00f3n del Whisky. Aqu\u00ed se dice que el fraile escoc\u00e9s John Cor obtuvo 6 fanegas de malta con las que pudo fabricar 1500 botellas de este destilado.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Escocia tiene protegida la producci\u00f3n del Scotch Whisky con una denominaci\u00f3n de origen.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">El whisky utiliza como base de su elaboraci\u00f3n malta fermentada de cereales como pueden ser la cebada, el trigo y el centeno, y en funci\u00f3n de esta composici\u00f3n se categorizan en:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Whisky de malta<\/strong>: son los elaborados principalmente de cebada malteada. Encontramos dos subtipos:<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Single malt<\/strong>: aquellos whiskys elaborados exclusivamente con cebada malteada en una \u00fanica destiler\u00eda.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Vatted malt<\/strong>: obtenidos a partir una mezcla de whiskys de diferentes destiler\u00edas pero estando compuestos solo de malta.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Whisky de grano<\/strong>: son aquellos que se elaboran a partir de cebada sin maltear, ma\u00edz y otro tipo de cereales, estando permitido tambi\u00e9n el malteado.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Blended whisky<\/strong> o whisky mezclado: una mezcla de whiskys de malta y whiskys de grano para obtener un producto de calidad aceptable a un precio m\u00e1s asequible.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">El whisky original (scotch whisky) es de origen escoc\u00e9s y esta bebida solo puede producirse en Escocia, ya que este pa\u00eds tiene protegida su producci\u00f3n con una denominaci\u00f3n de origen. Para que un whisky pueda ser portador de dicho nombre, es requisito indispensable que sea a\u00f1ejado durante tres a\u00f1os como m\u00ednimo en barricas de roble.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Existen otros tipos de whisky elaborados en distintos pa\u00edses como puede ser: Irlanda, EEUU, Canad\u00e1, Gales, Japon o la India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-800 wp-image-480 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"Bourbon vs Whisky\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/thewhisper.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/distillery-barrels-591602_960_720.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Pero\u2026\u00bfQu\u00e9 pasa con el bourbon?<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333;\">El bourbon solo puede ser a\u00f1ejado en barricas nuevas elaboradas de roble carbonizado.<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">En primer lugar, cabe se\u00f1alar que el bourbon es un destilado que pertenece a la familia de los whiskys. Se diferencia del resto porque este suele ser m\u00e1s arom\u00e1tico y tiene un sabor ligeramente m\u00e1s dulce y acaramelado. Su origen lo encontramos en el condado de Bourbon, en Kentucky (EEUU). All\u00ed fue destilado por inmigrantes irlandeses y escoceses ante la creciente demanda de licor en las nuevas colonias americanas. A diferencia del Scotch Whisky, el bourbon no est\u00e1 estrictamente protegido por una denominaci\u00f3n de origen como tal. Aunque s\u00ed est\u00e1 respaldado por leyes que limitan su producci\u00f3n al territorio de Estado Unidos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">El bourbon se elabora con base de grano, donde el ma\u00edz es el ingrediente principal de la mezcla. Ya que para que sea considerado Bourbon, debe contener al menos un 51% de ma\u00edz. Tambi\u00e9n puede contener trigo, centeno y cebada malteados.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Mientras que el whisky puede ser a\u00f1ejado en distintas barricas, el bourbon solo puede ser a\u00f1ejado en barricas nuevas elaboradas de roble carbonizado.
